PC Lies – I’m NOT That Dad #11

Category: I'm Not that Dad

I don’t like being politically correct because I think it’s bull and it’s NOT the truth. Herewith some radio recording of my Life Lessons about PC lies. You might also enjoy my non-PC column, Ten Elementary Differences Between Men and Women, Part One. Heads-Up – if you are a feminist or head of a Women’s Studies department, you may want to visit  a women’s right’s site instead! That reminds me, why are there Women’s Studies departments, but NO Men’s Studies departments?

How precisely is it valid to claim that there are no men’s studies departments?  Here is a website that will direct you to countless resources, including university departments, pertaining to men’s studies

How exactly may one claim that Time was ennobling, lionizing or otherwise honoring protestors?  Here is a webpage that explicates Time’s magazine’s fundamental criterion for who gets voted person of the year.  This criterion has been in place since the late 1920s, when Time first began naming a person of the year (it was “man of the year” in those days).  Accordingly, one must conclude that the magazine was simply asserting that the archetype of “the protestor” embodied a major and marked influence on a multitude of sociological and geopolitical trends and conditions explored in the news in 2011.  I would like to know how specifically that is anything other than a proposal about what was a high-profile dynamic in current affairs in 2011.  Elsewhere at the Time website is a list of this year’s runners-up…they include Admiral McRaven, chief of the U.S. military’s Special Operations Command (personnel in this command killed Bin Laden in 2011), and Paul Ryan, the Midwestern U.S. legislator who developed a well-received, high-profile federal budget proposal in 2011.  To argue that one of them (or someone not on the runner-up list) should have been person of the year is a meritorious and serious claim; to say that Time was seeking to valorize protest and protesters is not.
