Dealing with Rejection at #DadChat

Little kid facing rejection

Who hasn’t dealt with rejection in their lives? What parent hasn’t had to console a child over a variety of rejections, whether from a sports team, an audition, or the more common cliques and first-love dramas? BUT, isn’t rejection and its corollary – failure – really an opportunity to grow and learn? Don’t we usually get more from failure than success IF we have the right context in hand? Special co-host Susan Campbell Cross will take on this sometimes painful issue this Thursday, March 21 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. PT/9:00 – 10:00 p.m. ET.

The FabYOUList looks great. I wish I could join this chat, but the time isn’t good for me. I look forward to the recap!

Looks great. Rejection and failure are stepping stones, but so tough to deal with especially as an adolescent. Unfortunately, too many of us never get over it 🙁

It should be a powerful discussion Thursday at #DadChat @twitter-29769484:disqus

I think I miss this… I never saw the response. How did it go? Is there an archive of the chat?

The biggest lie of rejection is that we are the only ones to have gone through it. Truth be told many women and men are hurting. We can’t control what has happened in our past. We can control how we live our present. I shared a tweet with you. My dad was a drunk then told me I wasn’t his 🙂 That was fun. But in spite of the years of verbal abuse, I’m a author, my baby product won $15,000 from Huggies and I’m launching in national retail stores soon, I’ve performed all over the world with Larry The Cable Guy, Chuck Schwab and more, and I’m only getting started. Most importantly my daughter has a great dad so I didn’t repeat the cycle 🙂 I’m not special. Any woman can do the same things. I’ve been totally healed from all the rejection and I’ve never looked back. I hope anyone facing these issues realize that they too can do amazing things in life but the greatest is telling others they can overcome 🙂
