How often do we talk at #DadChat about the importance of teaching our kids to do the right thing, to give back to the world, to do Tikkun Olam (“Repair the World”)? A LOT! Do you believe in Good Karma? Do you believe that it comes back to you? This Thursday, March 28 at 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. PT/9:00 -10:00 p.m. ET, we have co-host Annie Fox to help guide us through steps to help our kids be better people. Her new book is Teaching Kids to be Good People and we will be giving away THREE copies during #DadChat. And, as always at #DadChat, you will have to earn the giveaway!

Hey Bruce, I’m looking forward to our time together on Thursday night. COnversations about karma, Doing the Right Thing because you can and because it’s needed vs Doing the “social safe” thing… fit right in with talks about the challenges of raising 21st century kids with a moral compass. Can’t wait!

@d17b5a178e95b1a37d63f92496c6b92e:disqus – since our society has become so secular it is even more incumbent upon parents to teach values to our children – to model giving back – and to show them how good it feels to do so!

@daniel_dinnie:disqus – I know it’s a time pinch for you, but I hope you can join us Daniel! If not, I always post a transcript right afterwards…

      • Daniel Alexander

Thanks Bruce. I usually have a look at the transcripts. Hey what can we do; we live in a world with different timezones…

        • Bruce Sallan

Yet we still can have relationships @daniel_dinnie:disqus virtually and through SoMe…remember that sleep is over-rated! LOL…

          • Daniel Alexander

            Sleep is underrated.
I wacked out a good seven hours last night, and could still do with one more 🙂

          • Bruce Sallan

@daniel_dinnie:disqus – I actually agree; was just razzing you!

          • Daniel Alexander

            Ya, i hear you.
Still, I had to state a case for sleeping 😉

We’ll be at a sports event during the Twitter chat so I can’t attend but I’m definitely going to check out the book! I recently tried to teach my four year old daughter about karma. She fully understands the concept but I tried introducing the word. I thought she was confused when she insisted that “karma” is a person that will come and get you when you do unkind things. I laughed later when I observed a conversation at her school where I also teach. A little boy had pushed her down and then ran to the swings. He tripped on the way and my daughter proclaimed, “karma got him.” I guess she does get it…sort of! 🙂

@af995b5dff8ef91f165a4b58db6b336f:disqus – we always post a transcript after #DadChat so those that can’t make it can see what transpired…
@d17b5a178e95b1a37d63f92496c6b92e:disqus ‘s book is an important one for parents! Our kids are sorely tempted in the wrong directions too much today!

  • Patrick

I will try my best to attend, even though I’m only a dad to a Collie. 🙂

@Patricksplace:disqus – doing the Right Thing and Karma applies to EVERYONE!
