The Empty-Nest Syndrome. We all hear about it but when our kids are young we believe it’s so far away. Trust me, it happens in the blink-of-an-eye. We are a few months away from our second son leaving for college. Are you prepared for the empty-nest? Will your kids even be able to leave home? More kids are returning home – after college – to live than ANY time in our history – I believe it’s over 80% for extended periods of time! This Thursday, March 26 at 6:00 p.m. PT/9:00 p.m. ET we will TAKE on the Empty-Nest for those in the throes of it and those that will face it – hopefully!
I am somewhere in India or Africa for this week’s #DadChat on Thursday, December 19 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. PT/9:00 -10:00 p.m. ET. But, in anticipation of my absence I went looking and found the ONLY two moms in the world who would admit it. Yep, they are going to admit that they are happy when their adult children go home AFTER visiting for “The Holidays.” Yes, these two moms love their kids, but they love them more from afar.
Dad gets a 2012 Ford Flex to take his son to college. Even though I’m NOT That Dad, I got one, too – on loan from Ford for our cross-country trip to Boston! I have to say I felt so cool!
I woke my son up to show him the just-arrived 2013 Ford Flex we got for our trip!
I’m about to embark on a road trip. Not just any road trip but one with my first-born son across America from Los Angeles to Boston to begin college. Not just any road trip, but also a huge journey from childhood to adulthood for him, and from a clingy loving dad to empty nester for me. Yes, I will have my other son at home, but the first one to leave is big. Our home will not be the same and our family dynamics will not be the same. Ford has generously loaned us a fully loaded brand-new 2013 Ford Flex for the drive. We are going in style!
