#Dating as a Single Parent at #DadChat – The Good, the Bad, the Ugly

Category: #DadChat

dating

There are SO MANY (dire) consequences of divorce. I could write a book. Hmmm, maybe I will. But, one of the hardest things for any single dad or mom is re-entering the dating scene. That will be our topic this Thursday July 3 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. PT/9:00 – 10:00 p.m. ET. Dave Taylor suggested this topic and is our special co-host this week!

Dave Taylor

Dave Taylor is a single dad of three, 17, 14, 10, and continues to try and retain his sanity as he also manages his own business and tries to have some modicum of a life too. For better or worse. You can catch up on his adventures at GoFatherhood.com

Here are some common questions about dating as a single parent:

~~ When do I tell the kids I’m dating? What do I tell them?

~~ If the kids know I’m dating, when do I introduce them to a prospective partner?

~~ What if my kid(s) still harbor hopes of a reconciliation? Can I still date?

~~ Gulp, are sleepovers allowed?

I had it doubly hard because I had my boys 24/7. Their mom had disappeared almost literally and certainly practically. That created different choices and I’ll share that story Thursday evening.

Here are some tweets to encourage your friends and others to join us Thursday:
